Graduates aiming for M.Des at the IITs. 3 hours · Part A on screen (1 hour) + Part B design questions (2 hours)
About the CEED M.Des mock tests
In CEED, Part B carries three-quarters of the score, but you only get there by clearing the Part A cut-off. Our CEED mock tests train both: a fast one-hour Part A with the official marking, and a full two-hour Part B that our mentors mark and comment on.
CEED 2027 is on Sunday, 17 January 2027, 9:00 am – 12:00 noon. Source: CEED 2027 brochure, IIT Bombay. Always confirm dates on the official website.

|---|---|---|---|---|
| Part A · 1 hour, on computer | Numerical answer (NAT) | Type a number | 8 | +4, no negative |
| Multiple select (MSQ) | One or more correct | 10 | Up to +4 (partial), −1 if any wrong option | |

| Part B · 2 hours, on paper | Sketching, creativity, visual & form sensitivity, problem identification | Drawing and writing | 5 | 20 each |
Final score = 0.25 × Part A + 0.75 × Part B. Part B is evaluated only for candidates above the Part A cut-off.
What every mock includes
- Part A: 8 numerical, 10 multiple-select and 26 multiple-choice questions with CEED's exact marking
- Part B: sketching, creativity, visual sensitivity, form sensitivity and problem identification
- Part B photographed and uploaded for mentor marking
How to use CEED mocks well
- Part A gives you about 80 seconds a question: answer what you know first and mark the rest for review.
- Part B decides your rank. Spend about 24 minutes on each of the five questions and don't leave any blank.
- Problem-identification answers score on insight: write specific 'How can we…' statements from different users' points of view.
CEED mock test: questions
How is the CEED score calculated?
For shortlisting, IIT Bombay uses 0.25 × Part A marks + 0.75 × Part B marks. Part B is evaluated only for candidates who clear the Part A cut-off.
How many questions are in CEED Part A?
44 questions worth 150 marks in 1 hour: 8 NAT, 10 MSQ and 26 MCQ. A wrong MCQ costs 0.5 marks and an MSQ with a wrong option costs 1 mark.
Can I go back to Part A during Part B?
No. Once Part B starts, Part A is closed — our mocks work the same way.
Is Mock Test 1 really free?
Yes. Fill in a short form and Mock 1 of any series opens straight away, timed and marked like the paid tests. Objective questions are marked instantly, and a TDH mentor reviews up to 2 of your drawing answers. In the full series, every drawing is marked.
Can I get personal guidance on my mock tests?
Yes. Connect with our counsellors to book a one-on-one session with a TDH mentor, for example to go through your answers, your drawings and your plan for the next few weeks. Mentor sessions are paid and booked separately from the mock test series.
What do I get in the full series?
10 full-length mock tests on the latest pattern of your exam, instant scores with section-wise and topic-wise reports, explanations for every objective question, and your drawing answers marked by a TDH mentor with written feedback. ₹799 at launch (MRP ₹999).
How do the drawing questions work online?
Just like the real exam, you draw on paper during the test. When time is up you get 20 extra minutes to photograph your sheets and upload them. A TDH mentor marks them against the criteria in the question and emails you the marks and feedback.
What if my internet drops or the page closes?
Your answers save automatically every few seconds, and the timer runs on our server. Reopen the test on any device and you'll continue where you left off, with the time that's left.
Can I take the tests on a phone?
Yes, the test screen works on phones, but a laptop or tablet is closer to the real computer-based exams. Keep your phone handy to photograph drawing answers.
When are new tests released?
New mocks are added through the season, each one checked by our mentors before release. Your series page shows which tests are open and which are coming next.
How do I open my tests on another device?
Use 'Sign in' on the mock tests page with the email you used to pay. We'll email you a link that signs you in on that device.
