Can any stream study design?
Yes. Most B.Des programmes accept students from science, commerce and arts. What matters is your aptitude — observation, creativity, drawing and problem solving — which entrance exams test directly. (Architecture is the main exception; B.Arch usually requires maths in Class 12.)

What does a design course cost?
Fees vary widely. Government institutes like NID, IITs and NIFT are generally more affordable than private universities, and many offer scholarships and fee waivers based on family income. Private design schools can cost significantly more. Always check the latest fee structure on each institute's website.
Career options after B.Des

When should you start preparing?
Ideally in Class 11. Two years gives you time to build drawing skills, a portfolio and exam confidence without stress. Starting in Class 12 is very doable with a focused plan.
